The Growth Company is seeking Expressions of Interest from delivery partners who can support Manufacturing SMEs in increasing the adoption of Industrial Digitalisation Technology (IDT).
The Growth Company (GC) is a not-for-profit provider of business support, education, skills and employment services. Our purpose is to enable growth, create jobs, and improve lives. GC sources and manages large, diverse supply chains to help deliver its priorities and has a long track record of effectively managing funds on behalf of local and national commissioners.
As part of the recently published Industrial Strategy, the Made Smarter National Adoption Programme NW Pilot (NAP) is supported by a £20M Government investment, to increase regional GVA by up to £115M. Over 30 months, the pilot will test out the most effective ways to engage manufacturers in the northwest and encourage them to adopt industrial digital technology so that they can improve their competitiveness, increase exports, and raise regional productivity.
Working through the five northwest Growth Hubs of Greater Manchester; Liverpool City Region; Cumbria; Lancashire; Cheshire and Warrington, the pilot will engage with 3,000 North West Manufacturers and provide intensive support to 600 that gives them access to expert advice and funding to invest in technology. This new service will work with existing productivity and digital skills programmes in the North West including ‘Be The Business’ and the ‘Digital Skills Partnership’.
In order to achieve this objective, the Made Smarter Programme will be able to fund IDT adoption related projects on a 50/50 basis in conjunction with programme advisers and delivery partners. In particular the programme is looking for support in the following areas:
• Robotics and Process Control Automation
• Industrial Internet of Things (sensors)
