The inaugural awards announced their finalists following an immense response in nominations from the public across England.
And the Butcher’s Quarter will find out if they will be crowned winners at a black tie event hosted by the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel on Sunday July 19.
Managing director Steven Pilkington said: “With the help of the BFS Business Loan we have been able to bring this age old skill back into the city centre where we know there is a real demand for good quality food. Thanks to the loan we’ve been able to bring what was a great butcher’s shop back to life and resurrect it at the heart of the community.
We’re really grateful for those who have voted for us in this competition. Having been open for little over three months, it shows that people appreciate what we are trying to achieve here and let’s us know we’re on the right path.
These awards are a great way to showcase smaller independent businesses and their unique products within the community.”
The Northern Independent Retail Awards aim to celebrate and commend the independent retailers in northern England, who offer unique products and reinvigorate their communities by making them more colorful and vibrant.
Categories range from Café of the Year, Convenience Store of the Year, Hair and Beauty Retailer of the Year and Service Provider of the Year.
