Colleague shortlisted at North West Young Professionals Awards

Thalia Czarkowska, Business Consultant at Green Economy, has been shortlisted at this year’s North West Young Professionals Awards.

Hosted by Insider, the North West Young Professionals Awards celebrates young business talent across the region and is one of the most anticipated business networking events of the year for young professionals in the region.

Thalia has been shortlisted for the Young Sustainability Champion award, a new award category for this year, that celebrates young professionals who have made the biggest contribution to sustainability within their organisation.

Thalia joined Green Economy in March 2017, after graduating from the University of Manchester with a BSc in Environmental Management.

Green Economy, part of the Growth Company, is the evolution of decades of experience working with businesses to decarbonise whilst helping local businesses seize the opportunities that the net zero transition presents.

In her role as Business Consultant, she has supported 173 SMEs in the low carbon sector on a 1-2-1 basis with business planning, marketing, and new sales opportunities, growing the green economy in Greater Manchester.

Thalia provides support and guidance to overcome barriers to entering the green market. The businesses that Thalia has supported have recruited over 30 new employees and expanded their organisations.

Thalia also completed GC’s internal Carbon Literacy Training and is in the process of becoming a training facilitator, which will allow her to deliver training to colleagues across the Growth Company.

The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 17 April at the Midland Hotel.
