Growth Company Achieves Supply Chain Quality Benchmark

Economic and social impact enterprise, The Growth Company has been recognised for the quality of its supply chain management. In its first assessment for the Merlin Standard accreditation, The Growth Company has achieved a rating of “Good”. The Merlin Standard recognises sustainable excellence and positive working within supply chains. The assessment took place between 18th and 21st September 2017 and covered seven Growth Company Employment, Skills and Careers contracts incorporating 81 suppliers in total.

Whilst there were naturally a number of areas for improvement, key strengths in The Growth Company’s approach included:

• The values, integrity and ethical business practices in our approach

• Openness and honesty in our communication and management

• The degree of support and development that supply chain organisations and their staff benefit from

The Growth Company’s Chief Executive Mark Hughes said: “To achieve a Good outcome at the first time of asking is testament to the hard work, dedication and values based approach in The Growth Company’s supply chain management, across a large and diverse supply chain. I would also like to thank our supply chain members for both their high standards of delivery and their positive engagement in the Merlin assessment process. The Merlin assessment has been invaluable in highlighting not only our strengths but also where we could improve on current practice and we will now be acting on recommendations with the aim of moving from “Good” to “Excellent” at our next assessment”.
