Getting started overseas: Your first steps toward selling abroad

Learn about support available to SMEs across the North West through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Department for International Trade, and how this can help you to access international markets. Lack of awareness or understanding stops eligible companies from benefitting from support available.

The Workshop
This ERDF funded half-day workshop focuses on the key issues which occur when dealing with export enquiries and orders, covering subjects such as the benefits of export and differences from domestic business. It will demonstrate legal, financial and logistical obstacles and how to mitigate these risks as well as how to trade safely overseas. There will also be an introduction to the ERDF support available to help Greater Manchester businesses access overseas opportunities.

SME’s on the Spark2Scale programme based in the Greater Manchester region will have priority to attend this event.

Marketing research is the first and one of the most vital steps for any organisation considering entering a new market. This intensive half-day course is an invaluable introduction to the process of planning and conducting marketing research overseas.

This course is designed to train individuals in the important discipline and practice of market research, whether their organisations are:-

  • considering exporting for the first time; or
  • determining a strategy for entry into new overseas markets.

  • an insight into the practical benefits of undertaking marketing research;
