Manchester Takes Centre Stage At MIPCOM

A delegation from Manchester is at MIPCOM this week to promote the region as an international base for broadcasting and media production.

Taking place annually in Cannes, MIPCOM is the most anticipated global market for entertainment content, with around 13,700 participants attending from over 100 countries.

It’s here that the delegation will promote Manchester’s legacy in media. MIDAS is accompanied by members of Manchester’s vibrant production community including CHF Entertainment, Creative England, dock10, Flix Facilities, the Space Project, and Urban Canyons.

Manchester is no stranger to welcoming some of the world’s leading production companies. The city has provided a backdrop for high-profile TV shows and films including Life on Mars, Queer as Folk, The Voice, Captain America, Sherlock Holmes and 28 Days Later.

The region is a key base for global broadcasters such as the BBC and ITV and the industry is supported by the fastest growing talent, crew and production facility base in the UK.
