Matthew Scoops Top National Award

Former Skills Solutions’ Insurance Apprentice, Matthew Weeks of Bluefin Insurance is celebrating being named ‘Young Broker of the Year’ at the Insurance Age UK Broker Awards 2014.

The UK Broker Awards are now in their 21st year and organised by Insurance Age, one of the leading publications for the broking community. The 16 categories recognise the professionalism and achievements of the individuals and teams working in the UK insurance broker market.

Matthew only began his insurance career in September 2012 when he embarked on Bluefin’s Apprenticeship scheme which he completed in 2013 and was then promoted to his current role. Bluefin’s Apprenticeship programme is managed on a national basis by Manchester based training organisation Skills Solutions.

Additionally, Matthew is a dedicated Apprenticeship ambassador for Bluefin, the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS), a role that involves him travelling across the country to promote Apprenticeships and the broking industry.

Matthew Weeks commented: “I am thrilled to have won this award but it wouldn’t have been possible without the help of my team at Bluefin so it is an achievement that has a lot of thanks attached to it.”
