Steve Grant, Assistant Director of Human Resources at the University of Manchester has been awarded an MBE for services to unemployed people in Greater Manchester.
The accolade is in recognition of Steve’s work in, amongst other things, establishing The Works, a ground-breaking initiative which has supported over 3,000 local people into work in partnership with the Manchester Growth Company.
Jayne Worthington, Managing Director for Skills at MGC said: “We are delighted that Steve’s work has been recognised in this way. The Works has already won several national awards, and this is further recognition of the important role that it plays in changing the life chances of so many local residents."
