The Growth Company Education and Skills are delighted to have been awarded Low Carbon Innovator of the Year at the Construction Apprenticeship Awards 2022, held at FutureSkills, MediaCityUK on Friday 14 October.

The annual awards recognise excellence and the achievement of Apprentices, Providers and Employers in the UK Construction Apprenticeships Sector.

The Growth Company Education and Skills has over 30 years of experience in delivering high-quality apprenticeships and training and are excited to be opening a new Green Skills Academy in Trafford Park, Greater Manchester, as part of a pan-northern effort to lead the UK’s transition to Net Zero. The Green Skills Academy will provide high-quality training in emerging technologies such as electric vehicle charging, ground and air source heat pumps, solar panels, smart meters, wind turbine installation and much more.

Roosevelt Alexander, Sector Director of the Growth Company Education and Skills said: “It has been an exciting year for us and we’re proud that this has been recognised by this award.”

“The impact of rising energy costs is being felt across the country right now and while greener energy may be only part of a more complex answer that is needed to alleviate this crisis, a mass roll-out of sustainable energy solutions remains vital to accelerate our country’s transition to net zero carbon. This award demonstrates our commitment and is a testament to the hard work of the team.”

Jon-Paul Rimington, Managing Director of the Growth Company Education & Skills added: “We are delighted to have won this award and to receive recognition for our innovation and the team’s hard work.”

“The Green Skills Academy is the first of its kind in the North, and it will play a critical role in Greater Manchester’s ambitions to reach Net Zero carbon as early as 2038 and UK-wide by 2050.”
