The Growth Company has been awarded Silver under the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme for our support to Defence and the wider Armed Forces community.

The Employer Recognition Scheme was launched to reward employers who support Defence People objectives and encourage others to do the same. This includes employing serving and former members of the Armed Forces community and demonstrating flexibility towards training and mobilisation commitments for Reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.

The Growth Company is among 47 employers from across the North West of England to have been awarded Silver this year.

Nick Williams, Account Manager, MIDAS and Co-chair of the Growth Company’s Veterans and Reservists EDI Network, said: “I am proud to announce that The Growth Company has earned the Armed Forces Covenant Silver Award as a part of the Employer Recognition Scheme 2024. The Veterans and Reservists EDI team along with other colleagues have put in a lot of effort over the last 12 months to ensure we achieved this recognition. Obtaining this award demonstrates our commitment to the Armed Forces and its extended community, as we look to champion service personnel, their family, and partners within the workplace; providing a healthy and supportive environment for them to grow, earn and learn. Many thanks to all those involved, I look forwards to seeing the Growth Company achieve the Gold standard in the not so distant future.”

Commenting on the announcement of the 2024 Employer Recognition Scheme Silver awards; Colonel Mark Underhill OBE DL, Chief Executive at the North West of England and the Isle of Man Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (NW RFCA), said:

“On behalf of the Ministry of Defence we are honoured and delighted to be able to recognise the outstanding support and commitment given to the Armed Forces Covenant by businesses and organisations in the region, through the Employer Recognition Scheme awards. Each recipient has demonstrated not only that their support to the Covenant and the wider Armed Forces community, but also that they are prepared to support their Reservists, Service Leavers, Spouses, Veterans, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and Cadets in the workplace.”

The Veterans and Reservists EDI Network will be celebrating this achievement on the 27th June as they undertake a fundraising walk on behalf of Walking with the Wounded on the run up to Armed Forces Day.
