The Growth Company and one of our senior leaders have been recognised on two prestigious award shortlists, highlighting our commitment to driving positive change and promoting equality across the North.

Donna Edwards, our Managing Director for Business Support and Business Finance, has been shortlisted for Manufacturing Leader at TheBusinessDesk.com’s North West Leadership Awards.

The North West Leadership Awards celebrate the boldest and brightest leaders shaping the future of our region, driving innovation, championing their teams, or leading meaningful change in their community.

An experienced Director at both operational and board level, Donna has over 30 years’ experience of working in the areas of business support, workforce development, international trade, access to finance and innovation services across the NW, delivering services to meet the strategic priorities of the region, which have consistently met or exceeded expectations.

Donna’s portfolio includes leading the delivery of the North West Made Smarter Adoption Programme which, following successful conclusion of the NW pilot, has been launched in three additional regions in England.

Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday 5 March at The Midland, Manchester.

The Growth Company is also a finalist in the Large Organisation category at the Northern Power Women Awards.

The Northern Power Women Awards is the largest celebration of gender equality in Europe, shining a spotlight on the individuals and organisations driving real change across the North.

The Large Organisation category recognises the organisations that are driven with purpose to grow, develop and succeed. The award recognises organisations that are creating an inclusive workplace whilst making a positive impact.

At GC, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive organisation and are committed to creating an environment where all individuals are treated with respect and are valued.

A key driver of this is our EDI Networks. With your help and the support of our eight EDI networks, we’ve made meaningful progress over the past 12 months - from strengthening our EDI policy and expanding training, to improving workforce diversity and embedding more inclusive everyday practices. We look forward to continuing to build on these achievements this year.

The winners will be announced on Thursday 12 March at the celebration dinner at Manchester Central Convention Complex.
