Tehseen Ali Joins the Growth Company Board

The Growth Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Tehseen Ali to its Board of Directors.

Tehseen (Tes) brings over two decades of experience in the professional service sector, currently an Audit Partner at EY.

His journey to leadership is a powerful story of resilience and ambition. Growing up in Rochdale as a shy, working-class second-generation immigrant, Tes never imagined a future as a Partner at a global firm.

After earning a degree in Economics from the University of Manchester, Tes began his career in a dot-com start-up, followed by a role managing a branch of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. He then launched his audit career at PwC before joining EY, where he has now spent over 22 years.

At EY, Tes works within EY Private, leads on Markets, and sits on the North Board. He is also a passionate advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), championing social mobility and leading DE&I initiatives within Assurance.

Tes also serves as a Non-Executive Director at Pro-Manchester and is deeply committed to making a positive societal impact. Outside of work, he is a proud father of three and enjoys mountain biking and hiking in his spare time.

Speaking about joining the Growth Company’s Board, Tes said: “It allows me to contribute even more to the region I care deeply about. Those who know me will understand how seriously I take roles like this. Societal impact is a core value in everything I do—whether through my day job or the roles I take on beyond it.

“I’m especially excited to be joining the Audit and Risk Committee, and to get even closer to the work happening across Greater Manchester—both front of house and behind the scenes.”
