Why the change?

New Food Waste Legislation: From the 31st of March 2025, new waste legislation will require businesses across the UK to introduce food waste collection as part of 'Simpler Recycling' (this means office recycling will look more like your bins at home!). This aims to reduce food waste and divert it from landfill.

Environmental Responsibility: GC is committed to minimizing waste, in line with our Net Zero goal. This change will help us to improve recycling and will also mean general waste volumes will organically go down [pun]!

What’s Changing?

Introduction of Food Waste Bins: All sites and offices will receive 10L brown food waste caddies alongside biodegradable bags to be placed on kitchen countertops.

Please note, in some of our sites the landlord will be providing food waste recycling facilities. If this is the case, your recycling may look slightly different.

If you are unsure or have any questions, please reach out to your site manager or contact Facilities: facilities@growthco.uk

Key Actions for office colleagues:

  • Use 10L brown-coloured designated caddies for food waste.
  • Avoid contaminating food waste bins with other items.
