GC joins the ‘Enterprise Research Centre’ Steering Group

Richard Jeffery - National Director for GC Business, which is part of the Growth Company, is one of eight new members to have been invited to join the Enterprise Research Centre’s (ERC) Steering Group.
Since 2013, the ERC has been delivering independent research to inform policy and practice on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to help them thrive.
It’s based jointly at Warwick and Aston University Business Schools and funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), Innovate UK, The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and the British Business Bank (BBB).
It’s now the leading centre of excellence in the UK for research into the growth, innovation and productivity of SMEs - for anyone looking for robust, trusted data and insights on SME performance.
As well as furthering academic knowledge, the ERC’s work equips policymakers and practitioners with a better understanding of SME growth and provides insights into many topics critical to economic competitiveness. They share their research widely to maximise its policy impact.
The ERC Steering Group is made up of a range of stakeholders, with a collective interest in creating the conditions for SMEs to thrive. It plays an important role in advising the Centre on its strategic direction to help achieve impactive policy and practice.
The Steering Group meets twice a year. It has an independent Chair, Jane Galsworthy, and membership is drawn from the ERC’s stakeholder and research community.
