For our supply chain partners, we undertake open Expression of Interest (EOI) processes.

We aim to procure in a responsible and ethical manner and ask all suppliers to agree to our Responsible Procurement Principles.

As part of our ongoing sustainability efforts and 2038 Net Zero goal, we may require our strategic suppliers to report relevant sustainability data on a quarterly basis through our dedicated ESG and Sustainability Reporting Platform. We use this platform collectively to track progress toward our sustainability goals and ensure compliance with contractual requirements and legislation.

We believe that accurate and timely reporting of sustainability data is crucial to driving positive change, and we ask our suppliers to join us on this journey.

Our tenders usually contain the following elements, however, requirements change depending on what we are buying, including the size and value of the contract:

  • Company status and background
  • Due diligence criteria, such as insurances and financial standing information
  • Operational approach, methodology and delivery
  • Implementation
  • Responsible Business criteria (such as paying the real living wage and carbon reduction)
  • Service and Account Management
  • Social Value Commitments
  • Commercials (value for money)

The typical tender process includes a number of stages:

Documents with instructions for submission alongside the specification setting out the requirements of the tender are published.  These documents contain key information about the criteria of award and the evaluation process.

There is a set time for you to ask questions about the process or the specification. We encourage bidders to use this opportunity to fully understand the specification and the process.

This is the deadline that you must have submitted your tender documents by. The time and date is set within the Panacea portal.

We download all the bids and stakeholders from the commissioning GC team evaluate them against key criteria using the methodology stated in the invitation to tender documents.

We may hold interviews with shortlisted bidders depending on the process.

We issue all bidders with a letter outlining the tender result. If you are unsuccessful, we will provide feedback. We aim to provide useful and meaningful feedback that will improve your bids in the future.
